The Rainforest Alliance is an international nonprofit organisation that works with local partner groups to develop and promote sustainable standards in farming, forestry and tourism.
These standards protect the environment and foster the well-being of workers, their families and their communities. By choosing products bearing the Rainforest Alliance Certified™ seal, consumers can support a healthy environment and help to improve the quality of life for local communities.
The Fairtrade Foundation is the only certification that means farmers across the world get a fair deal. This includes a guaranteed minimum price, investment in community and business projects and encouraging long term, mutually beneficial trading relationships to name a few.
Each Fairtrade cooperative is guaranteed a minimum price per pound of coffee, and more if the coffee is certified Organic too.
This accreditation is all about protecting the ground our coffee is grown in. Organic coffee is grown in a way which has a low impact on its surroundings - protecting soil fertility, preventing toxic and persistent pesticides and fertilisers and allowing biologically diverse environments to thrive.
Each certified farm is visited regularly to ensure they continue to meet the strict regulations needed to secure this recognised seal of approval.
